Become part of the Academy...

The Academy for the Performing Arts welcomes high school sophomores who will be entering their junior year from participating consortium programs. These programs include schools from the Aurora, Beachwood, Chagrin Falls, Mayfield, Orange, Richmond Heights, Solon, South Euclid-Lyndhurst, West Geauga, and Willoughby-Eastlake school districts. To begin the application process, students are advised to attend their school's informational meeting about Excel TECC in the fall or speak directly with their school counselor to determine if a CTE (Career-Technical Education) program is the right fit for them. Additionally, prospective students are encouraged to attend the open house held in December or arrange a shadowing experience with current Academy students to gain firsthand insight into the program. Once the application period commences, all students are encouraged to submit their applications. Notably, there is no longer an audition process; only the application is required. In February, applicants will be notified of their acceptance status. Those who are accepted will have the opportunity to participate in a workshop offered in the spring. For students who missed the application deadline or are new to one of the participating school districts, there is no need to worry, as the Academy may accept students up until the start of the school year, provided that there are available slots.
