What is Excel TECC?

Excel TECC is a career technical consortium under the auspices of the State of Ohio Department of Education Career Tech initiative instituted by the U.S. Department of Education under the  Perkins Act.  Excel-TECC serves the following ten school districts and offers over 25 unique programs.

  • Aurora

  • Beachwood

  • Chagrin Falls

  • Mayfield

  • Orange

  • Richmond Heights

  • Solon

  • South Euclid-Lyndhurst

  • West Geauga

  • Willoughby-Eastlake 

Excel TECC's mission, which is passed down through all programs including the Academy is:Empower success, Engage career skills, Encourage responsible citizenship…Develop leaders today for the careers of tomorrow. Excel=TECC programs set high standards and expectations for students to prepare them to leave high school with the skill set necessary to be successful.

Excel TECC’s primary objective is to prepare students to enter a 4 year college, a two year technical school or the career of their choosing. Excel TECC serves 825 students with programs located throughout the districts as well as Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland Botanical Gardens. Students in Excel TECC programs are eligible to receive college credit upon successful completion of their program according to tech prep and CT2 standards and may receive anywhere from three to twenty five college credits. The ACADEMY FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS is one of the newest "career cluster" added to the Career Tech initiative.
